Overview

For over 36 years, PAREDOS, a non-profit organization, has developed partnership with International and Government agencies, the private sector, NGO’s and individuals to deliver Parent Education and Support Programmes to families.  In 2001, PAREDOS opened the Bertie Graham Early Childhood Education Unit, which houses the PAREDOS Day Care Centre.

PAREDOS is guided by an Executive Committee and managed by a Director and a team of highly qualified staff.  Professional resource persons and trained volunteers provide technical assistance.

PAREDOS Programmes Are Inclusive

Lend Your Support to Our Programmes!

Since its inception, volunteers

have played a significant and important role in the work of PAREDOS.  The involvement of our volunteers affords us the opportunity to reach a wider cross section of families.

Are PAREDOS Parenting

Programmes Working?

The evaluation of the parenting programmes show that by the time parents finished their

Sessions, they reported significant positive changes in parenting skills and competencies including: improved communication with their children and better approaches to handling conflict when it did arise.

Parents who participated in the parenting programmes were satisfied with the intervention and support components offered.  Therefore, we know that PAREDOS is doing a good job with its parenting programmes and this has been endorsed by national, regional and international organisations.

PAREDOS School-Based Programme

PAREDOS Anger Management and Character Building Programme (AMCBP) is being conducted in the primary schools in Barbados, with children (5 to 11 years) their parents and teachers.  This programme is a collaborative effort between between PAREDOS and the private sector, and is supported by the Ministry of Education and principals of the participating schools.

Lord,

Amen
